My Design Process

For every higher-ed redesign I follow a structured process that balances institutional goals with student needs.

  • Competitor analysis of peer institutions
  • Research-backed user personas (transfer, military, graduate)
  • Wireframes and rapid iteration for stakeholder sign-off
  • High-fidelity designs in each school's brand
  • Interactive prototypes
  • A modular design system the schools' own teams can reuse

ODUGlobal's redesign went on to win a 2025 Web Excellence Award. It introduced a sleek brand-aligned design, smarter program search, AI-driven personalization, a seamless multi-step RFI form, interactive tools like a cost calculator, and faster pathways for transfer and military students, all on a modular framework the ODU team can update without developer bottlenecks.
